Half Past Autumn- Gordon Parks Pt.3 &4

Part 3 and 4
  1. Me definition of success is being able to do something you love on a daily basis.
  2.  I have given up spending time with my friends and family, to get better at what I do.
  3.  Parks gave up the life he knew and loved to become successful.
  4.  Gene's father was Ambassador V.K Wellington Ku.
  5.  Parks was offered ten thousand dollars.
  6. Parks was offered a large amount of money to do a story on The Nation of Islam.
  7.  Parks did not want the money because he did not believe the ideas in the story; yet he thought it would be a very interesting story.
  8. The Learning Tree was a significant movie because it was the first movie to have a African American hero.
  9.  Shaft was a significant character because he gave other African American men the power to feel like they could do anything.
  10.  Gordon Parks' choice of weapon was 35mm camera.
  11.  Gene said that the structure of the day was too unpredictable to her, and spending the time far apart was breaking their relationship.
  12. The film 12 Years a Slave directed by Steve McQueen and released in 2013 told the same story as Solomon Northrup's Odyssey.
  13.  Gordon Parks Jr. was Gordon's oldest son.
  14.  My favorite Gordon Parks photo is this picture.
  15.  In ten years I will remember that Parks was the first black photographer for LIFE magazine.
